Class Description:
Come create glossy enameled earrings with Alaskan artist Ashley Lohr. In this hands-on workshop, participants will be using a common butane torch (think creme brûlée) to create one-of-a-kind enamel pieces using Thompson powder enamel sifted onto copper blanks. We will discuss enamel consistency, application, prepping, cleaning, stenciling, ombre and sgraffito techniques. This ancient craft of enameling allows for the unique addition of glass color to metal designs by adding heat between 1300* F to 1500*F, achievable with a very simply set up you could try at home!
