One of a kind
Artist Statement: This orangutang may have the leaves of mango, fig and durian trees adorning his ring because he thinks that’s a good way to eat. But there’s some fat cat who has a better use for those wild lands. After all, there’s a buck to be made! Clear that land and plant some palms. Let them eat palm oil! (But we’ll make it into sprinkles first - a little bit of sugar and food coloring makes the medicine go down and all that… ).
Artist Bio: Kate Caswell, a jewelry artist specializing in wax carving and lost wax casting, works out her studio based in Jamestown, NY. Her work is known for a playful, tongue-in-cheek style that push the boundaries of practicality while maintaining a level of wearability.
