In this three-day beginner’s workshop we will explore the basic construction of band rings, stacking rings, and rings with both bezel set cabochons and tube set faceted stones. Although rings can be relatively simple to make they do present a unique challenge, aside from the need to be comfortable and beautiful they also must fit! All students will leave with an understanding of how to measure, embellish, form, and solder both a basic band and shanked rings.  Depending on experience level students may explore a variety of band styles and decorative detailing. Cutting, chasing and embossing for texture, as well as soldering and some forming techniques will all be covered.  Every student will leave class with a handful of well-made ring that fits! She discovered her love for the craft after returning to school to pursue a teaching degree with a focus in social studies. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1998 with a B.A. in Comparative History of Ideas as well as Interdisciplinary Arts, because she just couldn’t stay out of the art department. She has been teaching jewelry design since 1999 and loves what she does. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eHer aim as an instructor is to guide individuals through the learning process offering solid technical information, personalized attention, and lots of fun.
