Artist Statement: PHI is a kinetic sculpture in the form of an eternally spinning top ring, named for the golden ratio (φ ≈ 1.618). Its Fibonacci-inspired floral pattern radiates from an ebony tip. When spun, the ring blurs into a fleeting bloom, a dance of mathematics and perception. It can spin up to three days, powered by an embedded magnet and pulsed coil beneath the concave mirror of the 3D-printed base.
Artist Bio: Myon Rox (aka Frank Blum) is a Berlin-based artist merging nature, science, and technology into handcrafted wearable sculptures, interactive installations, and 3D-based designs. At the interface of art and science, his practice is driven by curiosity and a desire to experiment. His works transform scientific ideas, phenomena, and technical inventions into tangible, sensory experiences that invite interaction and sometimes reveal hidden patterns in the natural and technological world.
