Artist Statement: 

A growler is a small iceberg. It is named such because, when it breaks off from a larger iceberg, it moans a growl like sound. This brooch is part of an ongoing Iceberg series. 

Artist Bio: 

Born and raised in Seattle, I am a jewelry artist and painter living and working in Anacortes since 1980. I studied Fine Art at Cornish in Seattle and then an apprenticeship learning and making overlay jewelry for a production line. Later, I found my own voice. 

This brooch is part of the exhibition On Point: Brooches that Speak for Themselves. This exhibition centers on the brooch as a compact but potent site of expression. Each piece holds presence—visually, conceptually, or materially.
