Julia Lowther | Chime Ball

Artist:  Julia Lowther

Materials: Shibuichi/Sterling/Copper mokume gane, brass, sterling silver, steel

Dimensions: 1"x1"x1.5"

Origin of featured materials: Gifted

Story behind the piece:  This globe shaped pendant chimes beautifully when shaken gently.

I found if I overheated the mokume-gane it would cause the sterling layer to reticulate slightly, though this turned out to be a happy accident, since it added a bit of texture that I found appealing.
