Grainne Murray | Spocus
Artist: Grainne Murray, Ireland
Materials: Sterling Silver and Acrylic
Size: 11 (can't be resized, can be replicated)
Limited Edition
Artist Statement: I am very interested in the imagery, graphs and visual representations around Nuerodiversity - extracting positives from what’s normally deemed negative. This ring is inspired by people diagnosed on the autism spectrum, who have the ability to super focus - Spectrum Focus - hence naming it SPOCUS. The center hole creates a crosshair denoting the area of focus and it also connects the two colourful acrylic moving shapes to the shank. These shapes denote the noise outside the area of focus.
Artist Bio: As a graphic designer it's great to move away from computer and play with visual language in a physical context. I love to contrast color and textures, shape and form. I am very interested in the imagery, graphs and visual representations around Nuerodiversity - extracting positives from what’s normally deemed negative.
