About the Work: This Yukata fabric unfolds a tranquil vision of riverscape, where flowing water and native Japanese vegetation intertwine. The river, with its shifting course, embodies both change and constancy—always present, always moving. For me, its current becomes a metaphor for the unseen force that flows through each of us, binding us together as part of a greater whole. To echo this sentiment, I allowed the water pattern to travel across two separate planes, yet remain unbroken, suggesting continuity beyond boundaries.

Yuko Tanaka Bio: The inspirations behind my work arise from both natural and human-made environments. My artistic practice is guided by an exploration of non-representational forms, seeking a clean and harmonious aesthetic. I am drawn to the interplay of contrast and cohesion, and to the subtle beauty found in asymmetrical balance.
