Bring your own patterned mokume from previous classes or buy some authentic Phillip Baldwin mokume in class (courtesy of Layne Goldsmith\/Danaca Design). Detailed demos will show recommended soldering, forming, finishing, and patina techniques for mokume gane of all types, from base metal to precious metal. Depending on skill level and interest, participants can create a deep drawn sake cup, pendant, or work of their own design. The last day will include a thorough demonstration and chance to try the rare Japanese rokusho patina.
