Artist Statement: 
The brooches in the Intentionally Random series are exactly that- intentionally random. There is no deep-seated meaning behind them, but rather a deliberate melding of unrelated components to form a cohesive whole.

Artist Bio: 

I am a Minneapolis-based visual artist, jewelry designer, and educator. My practice ranges from intimate sculptures worn on the body to large-scale installations. Jewelry is more than adornment in my work; it is a way to explore politics, social issues, climate change, and other subjects I care deeply about. My work can be provocative and political, but I also believe art can simply be beautiful.

This brooch is part of the exhibition On Point: Brooches that Speak for Themselves. This exhibition centers on the brooch as a compact but potent site of expression. Each piece holds presence—visually, conceptually, or materially.
