Each student will first construct a simple, textured band or spinner band ring and then a shanked ring with a bezel-set stone. In the process of designing and constructing these rings, students will gain skills in silver soldering, a variety of metal texturing options, creating and setting a cabochon stone and basic finishing work including filing and polishing. Students will also become familiar with the three-dimensional possibilities and challenges of working with heavier gaged metal and the almighty importance of measuring to fit. Leaving with a couple of rings (that fit!) is a bonus. This is an ideal introduction to the wonderful world of rings!
