Jane Drucker | Drop Earrings

Artist:  Jane Drucker

Materials: Sterling Silver, Mokume Gane, Pearls

Dimensions: 3/4"x3/4"x1/4" Length 2"

Origin of featured materials: Shining Wave Metals / Phillip Baldwin

Story behind the piece:  I do a series of pieces that I call "Windows" which highlight an array of treated metals that I think are interestingly patinated, printed, or otherwise treated. These are silver drop earrings that encase domed Mokume Gane.

I have worked very little with Mokume Gane and/or bi-metal material. Carefully soldering on the piece of Mokume onto my Windows piece was a new experience.

Artist Bio: I am the designer of both residential interiors and jewelry. Whether I am designing  living room furnishings or a piece of jewelry, I delight in the simplest way of expressing my ideas. My aesthetic leans toward the architectural. I enjoy using contrasting elements.
My jewelry is meant to be art that adorns the body.
