One of a Kind
Artist Statement: A small creature rests quietly on the hand until its wings stir. Part insect, part automaton, this kinetic jewelry combines articulated wing mechanisms with a transformable structure. The ring band folds to convert the piece into a pendant. Wing it! Pull the tail to animate the creature! The design explores wearing versatility, dynamic movement, and the playful boundary between jewelry and miniature machine.
Artist Bio: I joined the jewelry world as a maker, having spent my entire professional career as an engineer. I have been a self-taught artist using many 2D/3D media, but my creative vision finally came into focus when I fabricated my first silver ring in 2014. Metalworking, through the eyes of art, and involvement of math, physics, and chemistry brought the challenges that I was looking for. I specialize in playful, kinetic, and multi-purpose adornments.
