Micki Lippe | Untitled Gold Earrings

Artist:  Micki Lippe

Materials: Sterling silver, 22 karat gold, straight grain

Dimensions: 1"x1"x1/8"

Origin of featured materials: Shining Wave Metals / Phillip Baldwin

Story behind the piece:  These earrings were constructed out of the bimetal, 22 karat gold and sterling silver, that Philip produced. They also have a small piece of the straight grain material, sterling silver and copper. This was also produced by Phillip. I was able to solder all of this together, because of his expertise in constructing the materials that I used.

Artist Bio: Micki has been making jewelry for about 50 years. Finding Philip and the material that he produced opened a door for her. It enabled her to have the color of 22 karat gold, without nearly the price. I could not have made the work that I made, at the price that I was able to sell it at, without Phil‘s by Metal. The copper silver material that he produced was an added bonus. The color and design contrast gave me even more tools to make work with.
