Artist Statement:
You walked into the downtown pizza shop, your arm reaching up to hold your mom's hand, and as you passed through the doors, you spotted it!
The Bright Red Gumball Machine.
Its contents, so sweet and beautiful, drew you closer.
With no quarter, you tried to turn the handle- it only moved so far.
No gumballs today. *Sigh*
Your gaze stayed fixed on the confetti of colorful treats as you were led back out the door.
I'll be back, you thought and smiled. I'll be back.
Artist Bio: Catherine has a knack for incorporating play in her jewelry by adding the unexpected, like a pop of color or moving parts, to make you smile and reminisce about the joys in life. She earned a BFA from Maine College of Art and currently resides in Lititz, Pennsylvania where she is inspired to create pieces that bring joy into the world in a way that echoes the happiness she feels from sunshiny days, bright flowers, and hearing the uncontrollable giggling of children!
