Artist Statement: This ring is a part of my Master's research work, ‘Take Your Pick’, titled No.47; it is a part of an experimental series exploring balance and contrast.

It is created to find the balance between the control I hold over designing the piece and the process, as the casting-in-place can dictate the visibility of the stones, thus the design nearly as much as I do.

Each piece is stamped with the iteration number before casting so its place in the process is recorded and this is the forty-seventh one.

Artist Bio: Saipranathi Sreeram is a multi-disciplinary practitioner who devises jewelry and objects inspired by lived experiences. Sreeram’s practice is centered around exploring material possibilities and pushing analogue and digital techniques in a scientific manner.

She first graduated from the Glasgow School of Art with a BA (Hons) and then the Royal College of Art with an MA, where this ring was made.
