Story behind the piece: Inspired by crunchy, dried, brown, fallen leaves that I often stepped on during my many walks through the arboretum. I love the leathery and wrinkly leaves and mokume metal enabled me to produce similar patterns of the fallen leaves.
I took Anne Wolf's class in chiseling Mokume and decided to dried fold forming with Mokume to see how the pattern will come through.
Artist Bio: I have been taking numerous metalsmithing classes from Danaca, Pratt Art Center, Silvera, and others. I also teach at NW Rockhound and Pratt Art Center. I love cloisonne, metal fabrication, stone setting, and Keum Boo. Prior to metalsmithing I mainly worked in tech industries as a program manager with emphasis on financial ERP systems. Jewelry making is much more fun!
